T's Blog Point Zero Zero One Six

In modern society...

There are allot of questions asked about...

Integrity.
Honesty.
Morals.
How you live you life.
Would you stand by the actions if you had your time over...???

Very deep stuff.

But, often the deep things...
The BIG things...
Need to broken down.
Like the saying goes...
How would you eat an elephant?

Bit by bit.

Apparently!

However I never really understood...
a) Why you'd want to eat an Elephant - they look pretty tough and chewy.
b) Is it legal to eat them??? In any country?
and
c) Aren't there enough eating challenges between the worlds biggest burger bun and 1kg steak challenges out and about to contemplate throwing in an Elephant into the mix??!?!

But back to my point about the openness and honesty we show each and every day, to the people we not only interact with, but interact with on a regular basis - ie: work colleagues that even if you wish to deny it - you have relationship - you do - purely due to the amount of time spent with each other, and the repeated nature of this re-occurrence...

Did you follow that?

So, when a work colleague asks you how your weekend was...

How honest do you answer?

Do you give the standard pleasantries?
Or worse, do you make up a story that they want to hear?
Can you not remember what you did on the weekend and shut down the conversation pretty quickly?

Well....

How Honest...
Open...
Willing...
Are you to divulge information about your "outside" world to your "inside" world of work?

And here's another question for you whilst I'm on a roll...

How much do THEY REALLY want to know about your weekend...
Are they ready for your answers???

Even now that I am mature...
We all know there is border between personal and professional...
So there are ALWAYS going to be things not discussed...
However,
Keeping my weekend simple,
mature,
and in point form...

Let's cover off a few interactions over the weekend, that even though it was in my "down time" maybe those people inflicting these upon me could of considered the unspoken - non professional boundaries... of... what I would like to re-introduce to the world as...

"down time, down play"

Things not needed to be...
addressed,
seen,
or discussed
purely because I was in my downtime...

a) beautician talking about inverted nipples.

b) beautician talking about extra placenta's

c) yes - again - beautician talking about... you know what - you don't ever need to know unless you've gone through it yourself.... WHICH I HAD AND WILL NOT - due to this being one of my top 5 reasons

d) Man midriffs - just not necessary - whether you are doing them intentionally to show off ones lean torso, or on the sadder end of the scale - due to ones torso making the shirt into a midriff due to overhang - either way - not needed in my down time.

e) The old girl upstairs - Ened - who I have now seen naked - that's a whole new story within itself, explaining whilst I did the laundry how lucky I am to be able to eat solids??!?!

f) The old girl Ened again - from upstairs, asking me to hang out her "bare essentials" on the line - as she can't lift her arms above her head at present - due to another fall on a bus... blah blah blah.... again - no need for me to be doing my domestics... as well as hers, especially when it involves bad beige granny wear!!!!!

g) Needless to say - hiding for the rest of the afternoon and wandering how and who she got to take the granny wear off the line...???

h) A drunken man eating an entire McHappy Family meal after a night out... within a 15min period. Who knew a normal human could do this???

i) Then being part - without pre negotiations or input from oneself... being part of the repercussions later that night. "ooohhh my tummy". "ouch my tummy". "oh dear... my tummy"

j) we wont mention what happened once it passed "the tummy"

And I haven't even covered Sunday yet!

So how honest was I when my dear work mates asked me about my weekend??
Did I let them into my world so we could become more cohesive...???
Aware?
Interactive?

Shit no!

I said...
"Pretty low key and relaxing...
What about yours?"
